What Fruit Keeps Jello From Setting?

what happens when you make jello and put fruits inside what happens to the fruit?

for biology we need to do this lab at home and we have to make jello and cut fruits and put them in the jello then leave the jello to set what happens with the fruit inside this is somthing to show how enzyme....... i think please tell please explain as detailed as pisble ^_^. please

The majority of fruit will be fine and will be suspended in the Jello. Pineapple however produces enzymes that break down protein. Jello is mainly composed of protein therefore the Jello will not set (solidify).

What is jello made out of?

I'm doing a science project and I would like to know exactly what jello is made out of. I want to know what kind of things are in it like glycine and pro line. My question is what kind of fruit will efect the setting of jello so I need some details please.

If you are doing this yourself get some beef or pork bones with the meat removed and cook them down . It's the collagen that jello or gelatin is originally created from . The jello you purchase in the store is more chemical now. It is far from the original idea and beginning of jello .
If you are going to try this I must tell you it takes a long time to cook out and then thicken the collagen.

About how much jello is used for fruit salad?

I have everything else that I need - both fresh and canned fruits, as well as cool whip. I would like to make it a bit more appealing to my brother, who is 9, and would like to put jello in it (although I know that it isn't required). About how much is appropriate for fruit salad? Thanks for any help :) Okay, for the people who DO use jello in it - about how much do you use?

The question is..... how much fruit is used for jell-o salad! Layer the bottom, pour jell-o, srinkle top. That's it. The jeel-o will find it's way around the fruit. But too much fruit and it will crumble out instead of come out in pieces.

Edit - try 1 cup of fruit per box of jello. Sounds about right. That would make it quite a bit more filling and make the presentation that much more delightful.

If you are using most fruits nothing special will happen - the jello should set normally (assuming its been prepared correctly/as directed). If you put in fresh kiwi or pineapple in the jello will not set. Both of these fruits contain an enzyme called proteinase which breaks down the proteins that make the jello gel.

What can you tell me about jello shots?

I've only seen people use 80 proof liquor when making jello shots. Can I use something higher, or would that prevent the jello from setting? Any extra suggestions about what flavors are the best?

You can totally use a higher proof alcohol as long as you are still using a ratio of half water and half alcohol in your recipe - when you start to replace more of the liquid with alcohol, that's when you run into problems with it setting up.

When it comes to flavors, there is plenty of room to get creative - think about your favorite drinks and use those combinations to get inspired. I tend to go more fruity and less grape/blue jello.

Enjoy!
