In What Year Was Gatorade Introduced?
What's the difference between the Gatorade versions?
There are a lot of different versions of Gatorade with the same flavors, but I've failed to notice what's so different about them. The only thing I noticed was color. For example: Frost, G, Rain, X-Factor, Tiger, forgot the rest.
Gatorade is a brand of flavored non-carbonated sports drinks manufactured by the Quaker Oats Company, now a division of PepsiCo. Intended for consumption during physically active occasions, Gatorade beverages are formulated to rehydrate and replenish fluid, carbohydrates and electrolytes.
G2: Off the Field Hydration, otherwise known as "Gatorade 2 (G2)," is a low calorie electrolyte beverage that was launched in late 2007 G2 is currently available in six flavors: Orange, Fruit Punch, Lemon-Lime, Strawberry Kiwi, Blueberry-Pomegranate, and Grape. It is also labeled as a healthy choice beverage.
Gatorade Tiger is a Gatorade Thirst Quencher drink formulated for Tiger Woods in flavors he selected. Debuting in March 2008, Gatorade Tiger is available in Red Drive (cherry), Cool Fusion (lemon lime) and Quiet Storm (grape). Gatorade Tiger contains 25% more electrolytes than Gatorade Thirst Quencher.
In 2000, Gatorade introduced Propel Fit Water, a vitamin enhanced water that is artificially sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame potassium. Propel has the same electrolytes as Gatorade, along with some vitamins, which makes it similar to Vitamin Water, though Vitamin Water has substantial amounts of sugar. Propel Fitness Water with Calcium was introduced in 2006. Also, in 2006, Gatorade introduced its Rain flavor line, which features a lighter, crisp taste similar to its Propel line but which comes in the bottle size and shape as the original Gatorade. In late 2007, a lower-calorie line of Gatorade drinks, named G2, was released.
In 2001, Gatorade introduced the Gatorade Performance Series, a special line of sports nutrition products. These products include Gatorade Carbohydrate Energy Drink, Gatorade Protein Recovery Shake, the Gatorade Nutrition Shake and the Gatorade Nutrition Bar. The Endurance Formula, introduced in 2004, contains twice the sodium and three times the potassium than the typical Gatorade formula, as well as chloride, magnesium and calcium, to better replace what athletes lose while training and competing.
How Come When I Drink Gatorade I Get Headaches?
I tried to look up why Gatorade gives me headaches and all I can find is people saying the Gatorade is supposed to help headaches. If that is true, then how come I get headaches when I drink Gatorade? Or if I have a headache and I drink Gatorade, it makes it worse? Jojo zbrown - I didn't know that and yes I drink Gatorade when it is unnecessary, I just drink it cause it tastes good. I'll stop drinking it unless I just got done exercising.
Gatorade assists with dehydration, NOT headaches. Sure, a lot of the times people have headaches associated with dehydration, but the headache symptom goes away when the Gatorade cures the dehydration. Gatorade contains electrolytes (i.e. metals in solution) and other minerals directed to create osmotic (salt) balance within the body. If you drink Gatorade when unnecessary, you are introducing excess salts and minerals to the body, which will cause osmotic imbalance (high salt content). That's why you hear of people getting headaches after eating salty foods. My solution would be to avoid Gatorade unless you're working out or dehydrated, and to stick with Advil (or just natural rest and relaxation) to cure headaches
Do you think the reputation of gatorade is going to be damaged?
Saddly today Dr. Robert Cade the inventor of Gatorade died of kidney cancer. Since he was know for gatorade it is really unfortunate that he happened to die from kidney cancer because I have already heard some idiots saying that gatorade causes kidney cancer which is not true. Will their reputation be hurt at all from these fools out their? Somewhat like the same situation with Atkins dying from heart failure and the end of the Atkins diet fad.
No i don't think so. There are many causes for kidney cancer. truly i don't think Gatorade has anything to do with it. Lets put it this way. The guy was a scientist. not athlete. Think of all the gallons of Gatorade athletes consume and they are not all dropping dead of kidney cancer.
Powerade or Gatorade?
Which one is older, and which one is better : Powerade or Gatorade ?
Gatorade is older, came out first I mean. Was actually developed by some scientists or something for the Florida Gators football team. It's a good drink because of the electrolytes, which I don't know exactly how to explain what they're good for. Eventually, it got marketed and copyrighted and now I think Coca-Cola owns Gatorade. This isn't info from Wikipedia or the web.
Although, I heard that Powerade is more beneficial than Gatorade. Just don't start drinking Red Bull or something if you are exercising. Carbonated drinks can cause cramping in muscles. I know this cuz my cross country and track coach (same guy) used to always get pissed off if he saw us drinking soda.
Can Gatorade be used on grass to make it grow thicker and greener?
Someone told me to dilute Gatorade with water in a sprayer, and spray grass, and it would make my yard look greener and healthier. Anyone ever heard of this?
If you believe this, then I have some oceanfront property in Arizona that I will sell to you real cheap! There is nothing in the ingredients of Gatorade that will effectively make your grass greener and healthier! A few electrolytes, potassium, and sugars are not going to accomplish this. It's best to save the Gatorade for your own human consumption and instead, apply good horticultural practices to your turf in order to make it healthy and green.
